    Description

The General Assault Badge was first awarded  in 1940.  It was given to soldiers who participated in infantry attacks but who were not assigned to infantry units. This would include combat engineers, anti-tank gunners, artillerymen and medics. The award criteria require the soldier to have participated in three infantry attacks on three different days and there are additional specifications.
This is a “hollow” (cut out) version of the basic (silver) award, 1957 pattern, a
fully-functional die-cast replica which is appropriate for display by collectors and wear by reenactors.  It complies with the laws of the
    German
    Federal
    Republic
    (
    Bundesrepublik
). It is worn on the left breast pocket.
